Leaving Cert. Grinds

We are well aware of the importance of this exam preparation and we aim to provide a friendly learning environment where students can learn at their pace and classes are structured to meet their specific needs. Classes are delivered by skilled teachers who got their Master’s Degree in Teaching Italian as a Second Language at the best Universities in the sector in Italy such as Siena University for Foreigners and Perugia University for Foreigners. We will take care of your preparation offering grinds in small groups for Transition year, 5th and 6th-year students.

We believe it is crucial that our classes have students of the same level of Italian. This is why a free of charge assessment test is required before the enrolment.

Courses can be activated with a minimum of 4 students and are limited to a maximum of 8 students.

Private group courses can be arranged with a minimum of 4 students. Individual and one-to-two private classes also available.

About classes IN SCHOOL – Our classrooms are very small so the maximum number of people allowed in class will be 4. Unfortunately the room size does not allow a 2 meters distance between the school desks but we will have 4 separate single school desks and students will be sitting at least 1 meter distance from each other and the teacher. Students will be required to wear face masks or face coverings at all times in class and in the school building and follow hand washing and respiratory hygiene guidelines; teachers will wear a a face mask. Even though there will be only one small group class at the time taking place in school, there are other offices in the school building so students might meet other people when coming to class). There will be hand sanitizers at each floor in the building and in class and surfaces will be disinfected after each class. Students are asked to refrain from attending classes if they feel unwell or develop any symptoms of cough, fever, high temperature, sore throat, runny nose, breathlessness or flu-like symptoms at any time. We will keep a contact log to help with contact tracing. It is also important that students bring their own text book in class or print out the material sent by the teacher prior to class. Thanks to our interactive whiteboards, you will receive the teachers’ notes from the class via email as usual.  We will continue to monitor our Covid-19 response, should the current situation change, we can move the courses online at any stage.

About ONLINE classes – For our online classes we use the videoconferencing platform Zoom. You need: An internet connection; a computer or I-Pad with built-in or plugged-in speakers, microphone and webcam. You do not have to have a Zoom account to attend a Zoom meeting. You will be prompted to download the software once you have clicked on the link that you will be provided. You may also wish to create an account, but that is not required to participate in a Zoom meeting).
